Chris Dunn, Walsall F.C

English goalkeeper Chris Dunn plays for Walsall F.C after signing for the club on a one-year deal in June 2018 after leaving former club Wrexham. Dunn had made 54 appearances for Wrexham after being signed by Keates from in July 2016.

The 30-year-old has previously had spells with Northampton Town, Coventry City, Yeovil and Cambridge United.

Chris started his career at the Northampton Town centre of excellence in January 2005 after moving from Brentwood when he was 17 and spent many Happy years at the club. During the 2009/10 season Chris was the regular 1st team goalkeeper and went on a run of five clean sheets in a row without conceding a goal in 524 minutes. This took him to third place in the record number of minutes without conceding a goal for Northampton Town.

During the 2010/11 season Chris played in Northampton Town’s third round Carling Cup win against Liverpool at Anfield and later that season he was awarded the PFA Fans Player of the Month for December after consecutive clean sheets and impressive performances.

On 30 June 2011 Chris left Northampton Town to join Coventry City and initially signed a 3 year contract. He made his debut for the club on 10 September 2011 as a half-time substitute in a 2–0 win against Derby County. Unfortunately Chris found himself no2 at the club for much of the time and so on 16 August 2013 he left Coventry by mutual consent.

On 17 August 2013 Chris signed for Yeovil Town on a 1 year contract, to be reunited with manager Gary Johnson whom he worked under at Northampton Town. After finishing the 2013/14 season making eight appearances for Yeovil Town Chris was offered a new contract by the club but decided not to accept it.

After deciding to leave Yeovil Chris agreed a 2 year deal with Cambridge United on 10 June 2014 for the U’s return season in the Football League and was given the number one shirt. He made his debut in the opening game of the season and kept a clean in a 1-0 win over Plymouth Argyle. On the 23 January 2015 Chris played a vital role in the clubs shock FA Cup 4th Round 0-0 Draw with Manchester United forcing a replay with the Premiership side, which they lost 3-0 in the replay at Old Trafford.

On 22 July 2016 Chris joined Wrexham on a 1 year deal as a player and goalkeeping coach.

He made his debut for the club on the opening day of the 2016/17 season keeping a clean sheet in a 0–0 draw with Dover Athletic. After being sidelined for several months Chris returned to the first team on 5 Nov 16.
